Alan's Apple Pie

Simple fruit pie with no dairy. We make this with apples that have begun to get a little old, and it works well. It even comes out good when half of the apples are sweet apples. It's our son's favorite dessert.

Peel and core apples, and slice into wedges. Place in saucepan with sugar and water. Bring water to a boil, then turn down heat. Cook slowly until apples are tender.

Add lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg, mix well. Pour into 9-inch prepared crust. If desired, crumble an additional half of crust recipe over fruit as a top crust.

Bake at 300°F oven 1 hour.
